I attended an AGW Symposium last night regarding the Hidden Histories of Windsor/Essex. The Symposium addressed the Queer/Trans, Indigenous and Black “Hidden History” of Windsor/Essex County and highlighted the importance of sharing stories before they’re lost. So many of carry the oral history of our family passed down from elders within and when that chain is broken, that specific experience is lost. Whether you send it to us for posting or write it down for yourself, do it. Make sure that the stories are there for your family when you’re gone.
Also, keep your eye on the Art Gallery of Windsor’s Facebook feed. Their history symposiums are engaging and well worth the time.
