Her dad had come over from England for work and had gotten established before having everyone else come over. They were staying with family in Walkerville and walked down to the water together. She said that there were thousands of people there and everyone just wanted a look. They were pressing together and she was pretty little. She was having a hard time breathing when her Dad picked her up and put her on his shoulders and she saw the Queen and Prince Philip.
She said that the Queen was really beautiful. Very elegant. She always says that it’s the only day she’ll never forget.
