Vincent Price

Actor Vincent Price spent his summers in Amherstburg. Born in St. Louis in 1911 to the President of the National Candy Company and a socialite, Price appeared in more than 100 films over the course of his career but is best known to audiences today for his horror films like “House of Wax” and ” The Haunting of Hill House.”

I have heard that the home (located on Dalhousie Street near Belle Vue House) is still owned by a member of his extended family. Several people have mentioned that either their parents or grandparents knew the family and saw them around town.
